The eIRB system uses "states" to classify where a submission is in the IRB process. You can see a diagram showing the state of your study within the IRB review process by opening the study in the eIRB. *Please note, if in "pre-submission" it has not been submitted to the IRB for review. For example:
The following table defines all possible study states for a new submission during the course of its review:
|The application is under preparation by the PI/submission preparer. If the PI does not submit the study, the study will remain in this state.
|Clarifications Requested (Pre-Review)
|The IRB Coordinator has request changes or clarification. The PI and Primary Contact will receive an e-mail notification advising them of the request.
|Pre-Review Completed (Convened Review)
|The submission awaits assignment to the IRB for review.
|Pre-Review Completed (Expedited or Exempt Review)
|The submission awaits assignment to a Designated IRB member for review.
|The submission is currently being reviewed by an IRB member.
|The submission awaits assignment to the Convened IRB for review or the submission has been assigned to an IRB meeting and is being reviewed by the IRB members.
|Clarifications Requested (Designated Review)
|The IRB member has requested changes or clarification regarding the submission under review.
|Clarifications Requested (Committee Review)
